Emily + Kyle \\ Engagement
Let’s talk about curve balls.
As a photographer, we are thrown many curve balls from weather, to running late on timelines, to outfit malfunctions, and location issues.
For this specific session, we were SO excited to play in the river and then go on the mountaintop for sunset. But as we headed up back around to go up the drive, the gate to the top was completely closed and we missed the golden sun.
I could’ve easily let that defeat me. Honestly, outside of my professional life that probably would’ve defeated me (your girl is a people-pleasing introvert). But I knew we still had light left and the opportunity to shoot so I jumped out of my car and asked if Emily + Kyle were down for a little adventure and to “follow me!”
Did I have a plan? No, not really. Did I know we could make magic anywhere? Yes.
I am so thankful that Emily + Kyle (and most of my clients when they are thrown these curve balls) trusted me and we were able to make some really fun photographs that wouldn’t have happened if our plan had worked out without a hitch.
So here’s all I’m saying: during your wedding day (or engagement session), there will most likely be some hiccups. It’s up to you if you’re going to bend or break when that happens. As wedding vendors, we do everything in our power to keep things moving smoothly when things ebb + flow. If you trust us, things move much easier and we are able to flex our creative muscles. If you don’t trust us, you can easily lose what is most important about your day: you and your partner. No matter what happens, you two are endgame. The little blips along the way are going to be distant memories (and hopefully things to laugh about later on).
We LOVE our clients and we work so hard to make your day the best it could be. Let’s just keep moving ♥
Enjoy these magical photos! xo
